{"id":93,"date":"2018-09-12T22:47:24","date_gmt":"2018-09-12T22:47:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/weigand-lab.de\/?page_id=93"},"modified":"2025-09-24T12:00:40","modified_gmt":"2025-09-24T12:00:40","slug":"frontseite","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/weigand-lab.de\/?page_id=93&lang=de","title":{"rendered":"Startseite"},"content":{"rendered":"<div  data-label=\"Features\" data-id=\"features--2\" data-export-id=\"features-16\" data-category=\"features\" class=\"features-16 content-section content-section-spacing\" id=\"features-2\" style=\"background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255);\"><div  class=\"gridContainer\"> <div  class=\"row text-center\"><div  class=\"section-title-col\" data-type=\"column\"> <h2  class=\"\">Forschungsthemen<\/h2> <p  class=\"lead\">RNA-Molek\u00fcle sind nicht nur kurzlebige Tr\u00e4ger von Informationen, die f\u00fcr Proteine kodieren, sondern erf\u00fcllen auch eine Vielzahl wesentlicher zellul\u00e4rer Funktionen, die von enzymatischen Aktivit\u00e4ten \u00fcber die Bereitstellung gro\u00dffl\u00e4chiger Ger\u00fcste bis hin zu komplizierten riboregulatorischen Mechanismen reichen, welche zellul\u00e4re Signale und Hom\u00f6ostase steuern. Trotz ihrer einfachen Zusammensetzung aus nur vier Bausteinen nehmen RNAs, wie auch Proteine, komplexe 3D-Strukturen an, die f\u00fcr ihre zellul\u00e4re Funktion unerl\u00e4sslich sind. Die Funktion einer RNA wird also sowohl durch ihre Sequenz als auch durch ihre Faltung bestimmt.<br >Unsere Gruppe untersucht, wie die Strukturbildung die Funktion und das Interaktom von mRNAs in menschlichen Zellen, Bakterien und Viren beeinflusst. Wir verwenden Strukturanalysen und massiv parallele Reporterassays in Verbindung mit Next Generation Sequencing, um die RNA-Faltung und ihre funktionellen Konsequenzen zu entschl\u00fcsseln. Dar\u00fcber hinaus nutzen und entwickeln wir Hochdurchsatzmethoden zur Untersuchung der RNA-Bindepr\u00e4ferenzen von Proteinen mit dem Ziel zu verstehen, wie RNA-Protein-Interaktionen zellul\u00e4re Entscheidungen beeinflussen.
